禪修對生活品質影響之研究—以中華禪法鼓宗禪法為例

摘要


每個人時刻都在為提升生活品質而努力,如何提升生活品質?已成為現代人非常重要的生活課題。越來越多的醫學專家及相關的科學家們,研究發現禪修對人的生理、心理的健康,都有顯著的功效。本研究的主要目的是探討「禪修對生活品質的影響」,次要目的是「禪修」成為社區再造的新元素的可能性。「生活品質」的定義及指標,採用WHO 2004年發布的「生活品質」四大範疇:生理健康、心理狀態、社會關係、環境領域,以及行政院主計處2006年編訂之「國民生活指標」,和OECD 2011年發布的「美好生活指數」。聖嚴法師將「中華禪法鼓宗」禪法的觀念與方法,轉化為一個新名詞–「心靈環保」。 研究結論: 一、文獻回顧顯示禪修對生活品質的影響: 禪修能能促進身體健康,維護人的心理健全,提升並保持良好的精神狀態,影響人的心靈,達到全面整體健康的目的,改善生活的狀況。 二、質性研究實證禪修對生活品質的影響,禪修能促進: (一)維持生理健康、增進活力; (二)正面心理狀態、減輕壓力、增強覺察力; (三)改善人際關係、社會關係密切; (四)淨化自然環境、人文環境、物質環境、精神環境。 綜合文獻及實證研究的結論:禪修對生活品質有實質具體的影響。 本研究的新初步立論: 一、「心靈環保」系統的內涵可成為生活品質的新評量指標。 二、「禪修」可成為社區再造的新元素。

We are all trying our best to improve the quality of life. How to improve the quality of life? It has become a very important topic of people in this modern age. The studies made by more and more physicians and scientists have proven that Chan practice is significantly effect to one’s health in terms of physiology, psychology, and spiritual state. The main purpose of this thesis is to study on “The influences of the qulity of life by Chan practice ”, and a step further, to discuss the possibility to make Chan practice a new contributing factor to “uplift our community”. The definition of “The Qulity of Life” given by WHO in 2004 is adopted in this thesis, which includes four categories : physical health, psychological state, social relationship and social environmental. “National Living Index” issued by Chief Accounting Office of the Executive Yuan R.O.C. in 2006 and “Your Better Life Index” issued by OECD in 2011 are adopted as the evaluation criterion. Chan Master Sheng Yen uses a new terminology to describe the concept and practice “the Method of the Dharma Drum Lineage of Chan Buddhism” , which is “Spiritual Environmental Protection”. Study Conclusion: 1.From reference sources, we can find out that: Chan practice can help to improve the practitioner’s physical health, maintain a positive psychological state and a healthy psychological state. It can bring positive effect to the one’s overall health and improve his/her life quality. 2.Proofs have been found in our study that Chan practice can be helpful to: 1)Keep one’s physical heath and improve the vitality; 2)Keep positive mental state, release stress and improve awareness; 3)Improve relationship and enhance the social connections; 4)Purify the natural, social, material and spiritual environment. Through above study we reach the conclusion: Chan practice will fundamentally impact people’s life quality. We believe that the essence of “Spiritual Environmental Protection” can be included as an indicator to assess people’s the quality of life. Chan practice can be a new contributing factor to uplift our community.
