研究目的: 鉺雅各鐳射是第一個被美國FDA證實可以用於牙齒硬組織之鐳射。目前並無研究探討鉺雅各鐳射在預防齲齒方面之效果。因此本研究之目的在探討鉺雅各鐳射預防齲齒之效果。方法:10個牙釉質標本分別以100 mj, 10 pps, 150 mj, 10 pps 及200 mj 10 pps之鉺雅各鐳射照射。再將照射過之牙釉質標本浸入去鈣化溶液內,分別在13, 20, 32, 44,及56小時後,以偏光顯微鏡(polarized microscopy)觀察牙釉質之抗酸程度。 結果: 結果顯示以150,mj,10 pps, 200 mj 10 pps之鉺雅各鐳射照射牙釉質標本有較好之抗酸性。而100 mj , 10 pps之鐳射照射似乎不足以產生抗齲齒之效果。 結論: 初步研究顯示鉺雅各鐳射具有預防齲齒之效果。尤其以150 mj及 200 mj兩種能量抗齲齒之效果較佳。但對於鉺雅各鐳射預防齲齒之機轉仍不甚明瞭。因此有待進一步研究以瞭解其作用機轉及更適當之能量。

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Er:YAG laser irradiation on caries-like lesion formation in human dental enamel using polarized light microscopy. Methods: Ten enamel sections were treated with Er:YAG laser with three different parameters. 100mj, 10 pps, 150mj 10 pps and 200 mj 10 pps with 1.0 spot size was used. After the laser treatment, 13, 20, 32, 44, 56 hours demineralization-cycling scheme were performed. The acid resistance of each enamel specimen was evaluated by polarized light microscopy. Results: The results showed that the laser parameter of 150 mj and 200 mj may be beneficial to the acid resistance of enamel. Among the five sections that have positive effect, section c and h subjected to 150 mj and 10 pps laser treatment, and 200 mj and10 pps for section e, j and f. However, laser density 100 mj in this study was not high enough to have positive effect on caries prevention. Conclusions: Er:YAG laser was found promising in achieving the caries-protective effect. It was found that laser parameter of 150 and 200 mj are beneficial to the caries prevention of enamel. Nevertheless, the correlation between the laser-induced changes in enamel observed in polarized light microscopy and the energy of the Laser is still far from established.
