The primary goal of early orthodontic treatment is to correct the existing muscular, skeletal and dental imbalance before eruption of the permanent teeth. Approximately 80% of patients with Class Ⅱ malocclusion can be corrected through the early use of functional appliances. The straight wire fixed orthodontics can be used to treat the rest of 20% patients. Early orthodontic treatment improves 95% of patients with Class Ⅱ malocclusion without extraction therapy or orthognathic surgery.
