Liver cancer is one of the major causes of cancer death in Taiwan as well as in China. Until now, there is no effective treatment in it. In the present study, we not only investigated the advantage of Jin Bo-native gold for human health but also studied its anti-cancer effect. We inoculated human hepatic tumor cell lines of SMMU-7221(3×107cells per 0.5cc) into the dorsal subcutaneous tissue in SCID mice. When the tumor mass was greater than 0.25~0.35cm, we treated the mice with native gold (3.6mg/day) by P.O. All animals were continuously observed for five weeks, and then sacrificed for anatomic obseration. As a result, tumor in the mice treated with native gold apparently grew slower than that in the normal control group.
