Immediate reconstruction of defects created by ablative resections was a major surgery in the treatment of patients with head and neck cancer in the latest 30 years. In situations in which both mucosal part and skin part were removed in tumor extirpation, the defect could be reconstructed by the combination of a PMMC flap for mucosal replacement and a DP flap for external skin replacement. We report two cases in which such large defect was repaired by the combination flap. Post-operatively, the result was satisfactory.
