Gingivectomy knives includes Kirkland knife and Orban interdental knife. They are originally designed for gingivectomy and gingivoplasty. Recently, the regeneration procedures are requried more soft tissue preservation for coverage of membrane or bone graft implantation. The purpose of this article is to describe modified usage of the gingivectomy knives to achieve more soft tissue preservation and gives more function of these two classical periodontal surgical tool.
