We conducted a series of biological surveys on the marine Mollusca in Siaolanyu. Surveys conducted on May 23-27, July 7-12, and October 15-20, 2009 were focused on intertidal zones, whereas those conducted on May 18-20 and September 10-11, 2009 Were focused on subtidal zones. Images of living creatures under the sea were captured on film by scuba divers and brought back to the laboratory for further examination. We identified 99 species belonging to 54 genera, 36 families, 12 orders, and 4 classes and discovered 1 novel species belonging to the family Trochidae, class Gastropoda, in Taiwan.
