市面上英語教學教材從一般課程到專業領誠可謂不勝枚舉,身為一位英語教師,面對無數的教學教材,在選擇及評估一本合適學生的英語教材時,要考慮到哪些方面?英語教師除了在課堂上以各種教學法達到教學目標外,首先教師應該事先對學生的需要釐訂教學目標,然後尋找可達成目標的教材。雖然同樣領域的教材(教科書),可是無論在內容、空間安排、等等,各方面彼此多少有差異,而這些差異特性可能影響教師購書的決定;當然也影響學生的學習興趣與教學目標的達成。本人選擇這四本不同程度且附有聽力的發音教材當做評論的樣本,一方面認為英語的授課教師如果認真挑選教材時,教材本身會告訴您它是否授課教師所需要的;另一方面認為授課教師在如何挑選適合學生程度的教材、及就教材的需要如何尋找自我改編教材的方法,以達成教學目標,責無旁貸。
There are many English language teaching materials available on the market, from comprehensive general courses to specialized books. As an English teacher, faced with quite a few teaching materials, more important, what should the teacher take into consideration in selecting and evaluating a particular, suitable published coursebook for her/his students? First of all the teacher should in advance formulate objectives with the needs of the students she/he is going to teach and then find out published materials to obtain the goals, apart from teaching students with a variety of teaching methods in the classroom. Textbooks such as pronunciation books are kind of different from one another. They can be different language levels with the same program-designing or similar content with different spacing, etc. The different features between two books will have a great impact on the teacher's decision to buy which one. They, of course, will influence both students' learning interests and the achievement of teaching objectives. I now choose the pronunciation coursebooks with listening comprehension for different levels just as examples to show the teacher who takes charge of the course what some of the coursebooks say themselves respectively. By which an English teacher must pay more attention to how to identify the teaching material suitable for interests of the students, to find his/her own way of using it and adapting it if necessary, and to achieve the teacher's teaching objectives.
