Conductive hearing impairment result- ing from head injury can be classified into three groups, ie a) hemotympanum, b),traumatic preforation of the eardrum and c), ossicular chain discontinuity. The most common form of ossicular chain lesion following head injury is incudo-stapedial joint separation. We managed two patients with incudo-stapedial joint separation very successfully through exploratory tympanotomy with ossiculoplasty during the past two years. Both of them young females who had sustained bead injury without other major complication except conductive hearing impairment. They acqured signfifcant hear-ing gain postoperatively.
