Interdisciplinary cooperation between periodontics and prosthodontics is currently a hot issue in dentistry. However, permanent splinting of the teeth with compromised periodontal support that is mostly provided by cement-fixed prostheses or by a dental implant system and the application of a removable device, i.e., telescopic designs, has not been widely reported. In this article, we present 3 periodontal-prosthetic cases in which teeth of periodontally questionable or hopeless prognoses were included in removable but tooth-supported telescopic splint units. All cases were followed-up for 3~4 years, and none showed any further periodontal breakdown.
