Accessing Total Arterial Compliance by Pulse Volume Recording Waveform

This study is based on the exponential decay function of diastolic blood pressure waveform with regard to the pressure-volume relationship and the two-elements Windkessel model. And exploring the compliance of non-invasive continuous pulse-volume recording (PVR) estimated by the decay constant of diastolic blood pressure waveform and the resistant (R) of vessel goes to estimate the correspondences between the decay constant, the estimated compliance and the total arterial compliance (TAC). The method for compliance calculation is introduced and verified with the linear pressure-volume relationship by Liu et al. while the brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) is employed to validate the result of this study.
