This thesis aims at collecting and analyzing the translation and revision of Andersen's Fairy Tales and Grimm's Fairy Tales and other relevant studies on them in order to completely understand the subjects and the reviews of related studies, and emphasize the significance of this study. Moreover, when exploring the meaning of the revision of Andersen's Fairy Tales and Grimm's Fairy Tales, we can see two different ways, "hidden tragedy'' and "obvious tragedy," in the revision as two crucial perspectives. Therefore, the conflict between these two ways can help clarify the meaning of these two fairy tales in modern society. The main crux was the understanding and consideration between translators and the authors, Andersen and Brother Grimm. As a translator in modern society, he not only needed to express the thought of the author, but also had to consider other important elements like his view of Children Literature and the environment. By analyzing the revision, we know the existence of tragedy in these stories had never prevented children and adults from understanding them and feeling touched. In this regard, some fundamental elements should have been considered as the principle of the revision, like offering readers a reasonable and easy story to read. Thus, readers can be led into the scenes of the stories and understand them easily and quickly, and they are able to feel and rethink the hidden meaning or metaphors in these stories.
