日本童謠運動對日治時期的台灣之影響

摘要


日本在1918年,以兒童雜誌《赤鳥》的創刊爲契機,展開日本最旱的創作童話、童謠的文學運動,除了有名的文學家如芥川龍之介等嘗試創作適合兒童的兒童文學外,也培育了許多新一代的兒童文學作家,爲日本兒童文學史開啓了新頁。日本童謠運動的二大旗手北原白秋及野口雨晴,在日治時期曾來台訪問,與當時的在台日本兒童文學家、文化團體有所交流。除了推廣創作童謠之外,北原白秋還應日本政府招聘,爲台灣的學童創作適合的童謠,以達到日本政府以唱歌、童謠的音樂教育,使台灣語言完全「日語化」的政策。北原白秋及野口雨晴的來台訪問、演講以及童謠創作,對當時的台灣兒童文學界以及童謠觀是否有所影響,是一個值得探討的問題。 本文以日治時期的台灣童謠爲主要研究對象,從住在台灣的日本人、台灣的學童、台灣文學界三方面,來探討日治時期台灣對日本童謠運動接受的情形。不論是從政治面、文化面或是文學回來看,日本的童謠運動所影響的主要都是在台日本人,台灣本島人除了兒童會歌唱童謠運動時期所創作的童謠之外,很難看到對童謠運動關心的記錄。這一方面可能與語言有關,一方面也與身爲被殖民者的身份有關。 而在台灣本地人之間,因爲日本童謠運動在台灣推廣,使得台灣的兒童間日文童謠、日本唱歌傳唱流行,而激起台灣知識份子對台灣童謠、歌謠流失的危機意識,進而發動台灣歌謠收集的運動,這在台灣歌謠收集上是很重要的一個運動,對於台灣歌謠的保存有很大的貢獻。

As the first children magazine Red Bird (akai tori) was published in 1918, the Japanese literary circle reached a turning point to launch the earliest literary movement of creating fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Some famous writers such as Akutagawa Ryi3nosuke tried to produce children literature and the new generation of children's literature ‘writers began to demonstrate their talent. The new era was introduced in the history of Japanese children literature. When Taiwan was controlled by Japan, Kitahara Hakushū and Noguchi Amahara, two important members in the Movement of Creating Nursery Rhymes, were invited to visit Taiwan to communicate with Japanese children literature writers and cultural groups. In addition to popularizing the new nursery rhymes, Kitahara ilalcushū also created some nursery rhymes suitable for Taiwanese children under the request of the Japanese government. The purpose was to make Taiwanese to be completely ‘Japanese-like’ through the music education on the basis of Japanese songs and nursery rhymes. The influence of Kitahara Hakushū and Noguchi Amahara's visit, lectures delivery, and nursery rhymes production on Taiwanese literary circle is worth exploring. This article regards the Taiwanese nursery rhymes in the period of Japan's colony as the main research object to explore the influence of the Japanese Movement of Creating Nursery Rhymes on Taiwan from there dimension: Japanese lived in Taiwan, Taiwanese children, Taiwan's literary groups. No matter looking from the dimensions of politics, culture or literature, the influence of the Japanese Movement of Creating Nursery Rhymes was mainly limited in the circle of the Japanese lived in Taiwan. Except for the fact that Taiwanese pupils could sing the new Japanese created nursery rhymes, it is very difficult to see any record to prove that Taiwanese ever cared about the movement. That is may be related to the native language and the identity of a person who was colonized. The popularization of the new Japanese nursery rhymes evoked the intellectuals' awareness of crisis and concerned the lost of the Taiwanese local nursery rhymes. Hence, a new project was launched to collect the vanishing Taiwanese ballads. This project has made a very great contribution in the reservation of Taiwanese ballads.
