Oral Nodular Fasciitis of Buccal Mucosa-A Case Report and Literature Review
口腔頰黏膜結節性筋膜炎－病例報告與文獻回顧

Oral Nodular fasciitis (NF) is a rare condition with about 15% occurring in the head and neck region. Although NF is a benign reactive lesion, due to its rapid growth with varying degrees of local aggressive features, it is often contributed to misdirected differential diagnoses favoring malignancy, particularly of the sarcomatous type. A 42-year-old female patient denied any systemic disease. She presented with a rapidly growing mass on her left buccal mucosa, which had developed within just one month. Radiological investigation revealed a 3.3 × 2.3 × 3.8 cm well-defined enhancing mass at left buccal region, compatible with clinical tinding. The mass lesion was total excised under general anesthesia. The final pathology proved oral nodular fasciitis. Local excision remains the choice of treatment for most NF cases, with a expectedly favorable prognosis.
