摘要


蓮藕是健康食物,是美食又是良藥,應該多加利用。蓮藕原產印度,現在大陸南方諸省與台灣均有栽培,它屬於睡蓮科多年水生草本植物蓮的根莖。蓮的植物一身都是寶,根莖是蓮藕,節間稱藕節,葉為荷葉,花瓣荷花,花托叫蓮房,雄蕊為蓮蕊鬚,種子稱蓮子,胚芽名蓮子心等,全部都可以供作藥用。蓮藕營養豐富,現代研究它含有多酚類物質與過氧化物酶,有抗氧化作用。

The lotus root is a healthy food. As a delicious food and good medicine, it should be properly utilized. The lotus originated in India. It is cultivated extensively in Taiwan and Southeast China. Lotus root is the fat root of a freshwater plant Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn (lotus). The lotus itself is a treasure totally. The lotus root, lotus node, lotus leaf, lotus petal, lotus receptacles, lotus stamen, lotus seed, and lotus plumule etc. All of them are available for Chinese medicines. The lotus root is highly nutritious. In recent researches, lotus roots are found to be rich in polyphenols and peroxides. It has antioxidant activity.
