The Design of Platform Switching in Dental Implant

摘要


傳統植體為兩段式的設計,植體植入骨內後由復支台柱接出至口內,而植體和支台柱之間連接處有微隙,為微小運動和細菌孳生的發生處,因此此區域的設計是很重要的。Platform switching是利用植體和支台柱尺寸的差異性,將微隙水平內移,就機械性和生物性的理論上去減少微隙對骨頭的影響,進一步減少植體植入接出口內後的骨喪失。本篇文獻整理platform switching的設計理論以及臨床研究表現,並探討在臨床上的意義以達到在植體治療上的最大效用。

The conventional design of implant is two-piece implant, which is assembled with implant fixture and prosthetic abutment. The presence of microgap at implant abutment junction may responsible for the micromovement and bacterial colonization, so the design of the connection is important. The concept of platform switching is based on the smaller diameter abutment connected to implant, shifting the implant-abutment junction inward horizontally, which may reduce marginal bone remodeling. The article review previous studies, aim to discuss the theory of benefit of platform switching, clinical manifestations, and the clinical significance in dental implant.
