摘要

Having a healthy periodontium is crucial to all restored teeth. Under many conditions such as extensive dental caries, factures, or esthetic demands, dentists need to re-create adequate supracrestal restored margins for the ease of impression making, cleaning or detection of secondary caries. Crown lengthening is a predictable procedure that saves the lost clinical space that is necessary for the successful prosthetic restorations by modification of both soft and hard tissues to reestablish biological width, also known as supracrestal attached tissues.
