This study is designed to perform dynamic experiments and analyze heart beat rate, trunk angle, and the changes of muscle activities utilizing the wireless physiological system and multi-function measuring instrument. The major influence factors measured in the study include climbing methods (unused alpenstock, held I-head alpenstock, held T-head alpenstock), weight-bearing (0%, 10%, 20%), and slope (0%, 6%, 12%).Based on the objective assessment and subjective assessment, the analysis ofvariations of heart rate, trunk angle, and muscle activity are conducted to assess of their operability. In the objective assessment by survey, most of the participants consider it more comfortable and labor-saving without using alpenstock before the experiment. Results after the experiment showed more labor-saving under the condition of non-weight-bearing and gentle slope (0%, 6%) without the help of alpenstock. However, the increasing weight-bearing and slope rate made the T-head alpenstock more labor-saving. In the subjective assessment, heart beat rate is increasing with slope and weight-bearing rise. Muscle activity and trunk angle are significantly affected by the changes of the muscle rotation. The results show that T-head alpenstock is suitable for flat terrain and I-head alpenstock is superior to steep terrain.
