Electroencephalographic study was done three hundred and two children complaining of migrainous headache. Among them, abnormal electroencephalograms accounted for 46.7% with slightly higher incidence in girls (48.3%) than in boys (45.1%). Correlations between electroencephalograms and age, sex distribution, location of headache, duration of episode and positive family history of migraine were not remarkable. Electroencephalographic findings were quite variable. The most common abnormal EEG pattern was the excessive slow activity regardless of the location of the migrainous headache.
