摘要

最近兩年間，著者試以Prednisolone，Cholestyramine和Pregestimil治療5個以傳統性下痢治療法無法治癒之頑固性下痢（三星期以上之下痢）之病嬰。臨床上，治療1~4天後，顯示治療效果甚佳；不僅五例全部活存，且體重增加迅速，未見併發證。

Five cases of intractable diarrhea treated with steroids, Pregestimil and Cholestyramine are reported. Four of the five patients developed diarrhea during the first 10 days of life. All five infants were fed cow's milk formulas since birth. All five patients were under-weight when they were first seen. The responses to treatment with the above-mentioned combination of drugs were satisfactory. All five patients survived. Their catch-up growths were rapid. Two to three month's follow-up study showed all patients tolerated ordinary cow's milk formulas without difficulties, and normal growths and developments.
