摘要

For the purpose of investigating the normal values of serum lactate dehydrogenase LDH and its isoenzymes activity in normal Chinese 275 men (149 males, 126 females), comprising 8 age groups: newborns, 33 cases; infants, 26 cases; 1 to 3 years, 30 cases; 3 to 6 years, 37 cases; 6 to 9 years, 33 cases; 9 to 12 years 35 cases; 12 to 15 years, 34 cases; and over 15 years, 47 cases; were studied, Serum LDH activities were assayed spectrophotometrically by the ”forward” (lactate+NAD(superscript +) to pyruvate+NADH+H(superscript +)) method, and its isoenzyme activities were assayed electrophoretically on cellulose acetate and quantified by densitometer. The normal values (mean±SD, IU/L) of serum LDH activity in these 8 age groups were summarized as below: newborns, 257±68; infants 164±34; 1 to 3 years, 165±25; 3 to 6 years, 131±18; 6 to 9 years, 116±28; 9 to 12 years, 127±19; 12 to 15 years, 130±21; and over 15 years, 86±15; respectively. It was noted that the older the age was, the lower the s aloe was, The five serum LDH isoenzyme activities and their percentage distribution were also analyzed, Tire results showed: (1) the older the age was, the lower the lower the value of serum LDH isoenzymes activity was, (2) the orders of percentage distribution of serum LDH isoenzymes were LDH2>LDH3>LDH1>LDH4>LDH5 in the newborn and infant groups, LDH2>LDH1>LDH3>LDH4>LDH5 in 3 groups aged from 1 to 9 years, LDH2>LDH1>LDH3>LDH4>LDH5 in 3 groups aged older than 9 years, respectively. Males Lad higher values of serum LDH activities than females, except in the newborn group where females had higher Values than males, but the difference between males and females was not statistically significant in any age group.
