摘要
尿液中排出的Orotic Acid在尿素產生途徑先天性代謝異常及一些其他的疾病狀態下會提高。氣相層析質譜儀可以準確的偵測尿液Orotic Acid，而且其使用的方法和尿液有機酸分析是一致的。因此以氣相層析質譜儀分析高血氨病人之尿液，將有助於尿素循環障礙疾病及有機酸血症之診斷。在檢查時，須特別注意Orotic Acid的出現。在配備氣相層析質譜儀時，不需其他偵測Orotic Acid之試驗。

Urinary excretion of orotic acid is increased in many inborn errors of urea genesis and some other diseases. Urine orotic acid is found to be accurately measured by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MASS) under the conditions for organic acids analysis. Therefore, GC-MASS analysis of urine is also helpful in the diagnosis of urea cycle disorders in patients with hyperammonemia. Specific tests for orotic acid measurement are not necessary if urine organic acids analysis is available.
