Field research was adopted in this study. Data was collected from the day of puerpera to a week after the premature infant was discharged. The verbal and nonverbal language and behavior expressed by this case were written in the form of process recordings by the researcher. The contents of the recordings were categoried and analyzed. There were six main themes of experience: suddenly facing premature birth, trying to figure out the reason for the premature, worry about the unstable health of the premature infant, praying for the premature infant surviving its hardships, adapting and preparing herself to be the mother of a premature child, and making great efforts to be the mother of a premature child. The study offers useful information to nurses taking care of mothers of premature infants.
