A New Dextral Species Land Snail of Genus Satsuma (Pulmonata: Camaenidae) Endemic to Taiwan

臺灣產南亞蝸牛科栗蝸牛屬陸生蝸牛一右旋新種：安通栗蝸牛

摘要

本文描述一種新種中型右旋栗蝸牛，本種僅分布於臺灣東部花蓮安通海岸山脈低海拔山區，中文以安通栗蝸牛名之。本種體型中型、夜行性、食性為植食性，成體多行半樹棲生活但偶會於地表活動，僅知分布於花蓮安通海岸山脈低海拔山區，棲息於原生林、雜木林或次生林區。本種在臺灣東部的近似種包括阿美栗蝸牛與鄭氏栗蝸牛兩種，但本種具有細小卻捲曲呈螺旋狀的鞭狀器，其體型、地理分布、生殖系統等特徵皆與已知兩種栗蝸牛不同，經本文提出的描述與證據予以區隔，確認此種蝸牛屬系統分類有效物種且為臺灣特有種。

In this article, the author established a new dextral species of camaenid land snail, Satsuma paradoxasp. nov.ineasternTaiwan. This medium size, semi-arboreal and herbivorous snail inhabits in a narrow patch of the low-landmountain-area at the coastal mountain ridge of east Taiwan. The new species is highly similar to another known congenera species, S. lituson theappearance morphology of shells. The two species can be distinguishedfrom body size and anatomical traits.
