A New Species of Nystiellidae (Gastropoda: Epitonioidea) from the Pratas Islands, near to Taiwan

台灣近海東沙群島產的深海螄螺一新種（腹足綱：深海螄螺科）

摘要

Recently, some interesting shells of families Epitoniidae and Nystiellidae were trawled from the deep seas off the Pratas Islands, near to the Southwest Taiwan. Among them, one species seems to be a new species of genus Eccliseogyra, and it is described and named as Eccliseogyra jungcheni in this paper. This new species has an open coiled shell, and is somewhat similar to Atlantic Eccliseogyra nitida, but these two species are different in many aspects.

近年來，在東沙群島附近海域，水深300公尺的沙質深海底，漁船撈獲一些深海螄螺科(Nystiellidae)之貝殼，經作者研究，可能是深海螄螺的新種，今以本文描述之。因為鍾柏生先生和陳景林先生提供了模式標本和其他標本，供作者詳細研究，故本新種貝殼將命名為鍾陳氏深海螄螺(Eccliseogyra jungcheni n.sp.)，以感謝他們兩位。此新種貝殼呈白色，各螺層分離，殼表具有無數非常細微的縱走稜線和螺旋稜線，殼長最大可達24mm。和牠相似的大西洋深海螄螺(Eccliseogyra nitida)具有較少的縱稜或稜線，而且殼口較圓，殼頂的角度較小，體型也較小，故容易區別。模式標本 (13.8mm X 8.2mm) 保存於台北的國立台灣博物館。
