In this study, the composition of the fruit and chemical-physical constants of the tung oil of wood oil tree (Aleurites montana wils.) and tung oil tree (Aleurites fordii Hemsl.) growing in various parts of Taiwan were analyzed. The results drawn from these studies are summarized as follows: In Taiwan, the composition of the fruit and chemical-physical constants of wood oil tree were shown as follows: fruit and seed weight: 17.31 to 23.88 g/per fruit, 2.43 to 3.47 g/per seed; percentage of good kernels: 62.50 to 90.41 %; oil contain: 54.88 to 59.30% in dried kernels, 21.78 to 33.07% in the seeds; Iodine value: 157 to 160, gel time: about twelve minutes. The best characteristics of fruit was-produced from Hue-sun experimental Forest, National Chung-hsing University. As for tung oil tree, there were; fruit and seed weight: 16.77 g/per fruit, 2.09 g/per seed; percentage of good kernels: 61.9%; oil contain: 58.91% in dried kernels, 28.87% in the seeds; Iodine value: 162, gel time: ten minutes.
