As the impact of the abatement of water pollution for colored papermaker, the application of sulfur dyes i.e., Sulfur Red 12, Sulfur Yellow 9 and Sulfur Blue 13 with their superior lightfastness and strong affinity to pulp fibers might interest paper mill. However, when using sulfur dyestuffs, the disadvantages are that not soluble in water. Usually, sodium sulfide are available for dissolving sulfur dyes. Upon sulfur dyes' dissolving test, one hour mixing time and the mixture ratio of 1 (sulfur dye) to 1 (sodium sulfide, by weight) showed the maximum solubility. The UV Spectrum of 1% sulfur dyes' Na 2S solution indicated that the wavelength shift of maximum absorbance was evidently affected by series concentrations of Na_2S applied.
