Improvement in Drying Time with Water-Reducible Amino Alkyd Resin Wood Coatings

摘要


使用丙烯醚化合物(TMPDAE)製造醇酸樹脂,摻入高亞胺型甲基化三聚氧胺樹脂架橋劑及其他成份,調配成氣乾型水性塗料,探討TMPAE含量,溫濕度,UV照射等因子對塗膜乾燥性質之改善效能,結果歸納如下:醇酸樹脂含5% TMPAE者顯著縮短塗膜氣乾時間,但10%及15%者則沒有改善效果。當溫度為50℃,相對濕度為45%時,塗膜乾燥僅約2小時,附加照射UV光者則在1小時左右氣乾硬化,其為乾燥條件25℃,65% RH者之1/9~1/18左右。DSC分析知,加熱下塗膜硬化之架橋速率,隨著TMPDAE含量之增加而增快,顯示溫度與TMPDAE含量對樹脂塗料之架橋速率具有相加相乘的增效效益。

Composition of coating: -First TMPDAE-trimethylol propane diallyl ether was made for the manufacture of air-dried water-reducible alkyd resin. Then this was blended with a high imino methylated melamine resin crosslinker, and other components for wood coatings. The effect of TMPDAE content, temperate, relative humidity, UV illumination, on the coating's drying time was then investigated. It was found that the fastest drying time in air was with alkyd resin containing 5% TMPDAE. Alkyd resin containing 10% or 15% had a longer drying time, similar to the coating without any TMPDAE whatever. Drying alkyd resin coating containing 5% TMPAE in air at 50℃ and 45%RH resulted in a drying time of 2 hours. Adding UV illumination to this reduced the drying time to 1 hour. Under these condition, the film's drying time was 9-18 times faster than drying in air at 25℃ and 65%RH. With a DSC experiment' it was found that increasing the TMPDAE content resulted in an increased speed of the crosslinking reaction of the film. This indicated the synergism of both temperature and TMPDAE content in affecting the crosslinking reaction rate.
