橡膠木染色木塑材之製造及其性質改良之研究

本研究旨在改良橡膠木之物理性質及裝飾性質,將加上染料之甲基丙烯酸甲酯單體,苯乙烯單體,甲基丙烯酸甲酯單體與苯乙烯單體之等量混合液分別注入橡膠木中,然後將注入處理後之橡膠木置於烘箱中加熱,使上述單體或單體混合液聚合而製成橡膠木染色木塑材。製造完成後之橡膠木三種染色木塑材,分別測定其縱向壓縮強度,靜曲強度,硬度,耐磨耗性,抗縮效能及排水效能等之改良情形。處理後之木材亦即染色木塑材之各種性質,均有顯著之改善。本研究結果顯示橡膠木以0.1%之鹽基型紫色-27號或鹽基型紅色-24號與甲基丙烯酸甲酯單體,苯乙烯單體,或甲基丙烯酸甲酯單體與苯乙烯單體等量混合液處理後,皆可獲得優雅而亮麗之外觀性質,而三種染色木塑材中,以甲基丙烯酸甲酯單體與苯乙烯單體等量混合液製造者優於其他二者。由此,可知以橡膠木製造之染色木塑材深具商用之潛力。

The objective of this study was to improve the physical and ornamental properties of rubberwood. The wood was impregnated with dyed methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA), dyed styrene monomer (ST) , and dyed 50% MMA and 50%ST mixtures (MMA+ST) respectively by using full cell process. Subsequent catalyst-heat polymerization of impregnated wood was made by using heating system to form dyed rubberwood-plastic combinations (WPC). The physical properties of the dyed WPC were determined by the following tests: compression paralled to the grain, static bending, hardness , abrasion resistance, antishrinkage efficiency and water excluding efficiency. Al l the properties were significantly improved. A beautiful appearance for dyed rubberwood-plastic combinations was obtained by using MMA, ST, or MMA+ST respectively with 0.1% of C.l. basic violet-27 or C.l. basic red-24. Property performance of dyed WPC made with MMA+ST was better than those made with MMA and ST respectively. Results of this study indicate that the dyed reubberwood-plastic combinations have great potential for commercial use.
