柳杉心材黑色化之探討
A Review: Blackening in the Heartwood of Sugi (Cryptomeria japonica D. Don)

The heartwood of sugi (Cryptomeria japonica D. Don) is light red in color streaks. However, the blackening in the heartwood of sugi is a serious problem that devaluates its products. To find an appropriate method to prevent the blackening of sugi heartwood, it is of importance to understand the reasons inducing the blackening. Therefore, the papers dealing with the blackening in the heartwood of sugi were reviewed.
