檳榔幹材不同部位之解剖特徵與化學成分之研究

Anatomical Characteristics and Chemical Compositions of Betel Palm Stem at Different Portions

摘要


本研究以檳榔(Areca catechu L.)幹材進行不同部位之解剖特徵與化學成分之研究。解剖結果顯示,檳榔幹材單位面積之維管束數目由基段向梢段漸增,由邊緣向中軸漸減。維管束弦向寬度與徑向長度,均由梢段向基段、中軸向邊緣漸增。纖維長度以中段最長,基段次之,梢段最短。纖維寬度以基段最寬,梢段次之,中段最短。化學組成方面,灰分在皮層的含量最高,中軸次之,邊緣最低;1%氫氧化鈉、熱水及醇苯之抽出物含量,均以中軸最高,皮層次之,邊緣最低;全纖維素含量,以邊緣最高,皮層次之,中軸最低;木質素含量以皮層最高,邊緣次之,中軸最低;而聚戊醣含量,於不同部位均無明顯差異;澱粉含量則以中軸最高,邊緣次之,皮層最低。

This research was to experiment the anatomical and chemical aspects of Betel Palm stem at different portions, i.e. longitudinally and transversely. The number of vascular bundle per unit area (cm^2) gradually increased from the lower-end to the upper-end longitudinally and from the core to the periphery transversely. The tangential width and radial length of vascular bundles gradually increased from the upper-end to the lower-end longitudinally and from the core to the periphery. The longest fiber length was at the middle portion, followed by the lower-end and the upper-end. The widest width of fiber was at the lower-end, followed by the upper-end and the middle. The ash content showed highest at the cortex, followed by the core and the periphery. The extractives soluble in 1% sodium hydroxide, hot water and alcohol-benzene showed highest at the core, followed by the cortex and the periphery, Holocellulose content showed highest at the periphery, followed by the cortex and the core. Lignin content showed highest at the cortex, followed by the periphery and the core. Pentosans content at different portions does not have significant differences. Starch content showed highest at the core, followed by the periphery and the cortex.
