熱可塑型酚甲醛環氧壓克力系紫外線硬化型塗料之合成與應用

Synthesis and Applications of Phenol-formaldehyde Novolac Epoxy Acrylate Resins-based UV coatings

摘要


本研究係探討熱可塑型(Novolac)酚甲醛環氧壓克力樹脂之合成,並調配成紫外線硬化型塗料(UV 塗料),期望藉其改善傳統雙酚A(BisphenolA)型環氧壓克力UV塗料之塗膜附著性不佳的缺點。將雙酚A及不同甲醛/酚=0.5及075(莫耳比)之酚甲醛樹脂,分別與環氧氯丙烷(Epichlorohydrin)合成環氧樹脂,再分別與丙烯酸反應,合成具有丙烯醯基之Bisphenol A、Novolac-0.5及Novolac-0.75等3種環氧壓克力樹脂作為預聚合體,依預聚合體/單體=80/20(重量比)並添加全體樹脂重之3%的光引發劑調配成自由基聚合型UV塗料,其中單體為雙官能性之二丙烯酸三丙烯乙二醇酯(Tripropylene glycol diacrylate, TPGDA),光引發劑為光裂解型之Benzildimethyl ketal。試驗結果發現,Novolac-0.75之熱可塑型酚甲醛環氧壓克力UV塗料,具有較佳之塗膜耐衝擊性、附著性及破壞伸長率,可以大幅改善傳統雙酚A型環氧壓克力UV塗料之塗膜附著性,但若作為木材塗料使用,其塗膜硬度及拉伸強度則有待進一步加強。

Phenol-formaldehyde novolac epoxy acrylate resins-based UV coatings were synthesized and applied for improving the inferior adhesion properties of traditional bis-phenol A epoxy acrylate resin-based UV coating film. Three types of epoxy acrylate resins containing acryloyl groups, designated as bisphenol A, Novolac-0.5, and Novolac-0.75 were synthesized by reacting acrylic acid with epoxy resins which were prepared with bis-phenol A, phenol-formaldehyde resins (F/P=0.5 and 0.75 by molar ratio) and epichlorohydrin respectively. The UV coatings were formulated by the weight ratio of epoxy acrylate resins/monomer (tripropylene glycol diacrylate,TPGDA) of 80/20, and 3% of photoinitiator (benzil dimethyl ketal) based on the total weight of the resins was added. The results indicated that the Novolac-0.75-based UV coating had an excellent impact resistance, adhesion, and elongation at break of films. The problem of the poor adhesion of bisphenol A-based UV coating film could be significantly enhanced by using the Novolac-0.75-based one. However, the hardness and tensile strength of Novolac-0.75-based UV coating must be further improved for wood finishing.
