蓪草紙之顯微結構與理化性質之探討

Investigation of Microstructure and Physicochemical Properties of Tong Cao (Tetrapanax papyriferus) Paper

摘要


本研究之目的係以臺灣新竹縣五峰鄉(臺灣新竹縣)、屏東科技大學校園(屏科大)與大陸江蘇省揚州市(大陸揚州市)產之蓪草髓心及臺灣新竹縣五峰鄉與大陸揚州產蓪草紙為原料,首先進行蓪草外觀構造與物理化學性質之測定,其次比較臺灣新竹與大陸揚州市產蓪草髓心所製造之蓪草紙其外觀及顯微結構,期提供未來工藝用途參考應用。蓪草髓心之特性為直徑從地表起至冠部呈現漸增之形式(即呈V型)。蓪草髓心之利用率顯示,屏科大與臺灣新竹產分別為75%及71%,高於大陸揚州市產之41%。臺灣新竹及大陸揚州市產蓪草紙吸水率皆為原紙質量之23倍。兩地產之橫向(旋削向)吸水膨脹率,具有極顯著差異;縱向(生長向)兩者間具有顯著差異。臺灣新竹縣五峰鄉產之蓪草紙吸水後具有較大的吸水膨脹率。臺灣新竹縣或大陸揚州市產之蓪草紙橫向抗張指數皆高於縱向;而紙張伸長率則呈現相反之結果,且兩者具有極顯著差異。木質部之化學組成(醇苯萃取物、半纖維素及酸不溶木質素者含量)高於髓心;髓心之灰分及α-纖維素高於木質部。臺灣新竹、屏科大校園及大陸揚州市產之蓪草髓心化學組成性質幾乎相近。除髓心之醇苯萃取物含量以臺灣新竹產=屏科大校園產>大陸揚州市產試材外,餘各項成分(灰分、全纖維素、α-纖維素、半纖維素及酸不溶木質素)顯示,三個產地之化學組成性質皆差異不顯著。

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the microstructure and physical and chemical properties of Tong Cao papers (Tetrapanax papyriferus) from NPUST campus, Wufeng, Hsinchu, Taiwan, and Yangzhou, China. Firstly, the observation of appearance of Tong Cao and the determination of their physicochemical properties. Secondly, comparing Tong Cao paper’s appearance and the microstructure of the Tong Cao paper from Hsinchu, Taiwan and Yangzhou, China. We expect to provide for the application of the process in the future. Tong Cao pith presented in the form of increasing the core diameter from the ground surface till the crown part (V-shaped). Utilization of Tong Cao pith showed that NPUST campus, and Hsinchu, Taiwan’s utilization rates were 75% and 71%, respectively. higher than the 41% rate of Yangzhou, China. Hsinchu, Taiwan and the Yangzhou, China produced Tong Cao paper's water absorption percentage are 23 times (w/w,%) of the original paper. But there is no significant difference. Water absorption swelling percentage of the two regions for transversal section (cut direction) was very significantly different (0.01 level) and longitudinal section (growth direction) also have a significant difference. After absorbing water, Tong Cao paper from Hsinchu, Taiwan has a large water absorption swelling percentage. Hsinchu, Taiwan or Yangzhou, China produced of Tong Cao paper's longitudinal tensile index were higher than that of transverse section; and an elongation of the paper showed the opposite result, and both have a significant difference. Chemical compositions (ethanol-toluene extractives, hemicellulose and acid-insoluble lignin) of Tong Cao's xylem higher than those of pith; However, pith part of ash and α - cellulose higher than xylem part. The characteristics of the chemical composition for Hsinchu, Taiwan and Yangzhou, China and NPUST campus produced almost similar papers. Alcohol-toluene extractives content of pith part displayed Hsinchu, Taiwan= NPUST campus >Yangzhou, China produced specimens, the remaining (ash, holocellulose cellulose, α- cellulose, hemicellulose, and acid-insoluble lignin content) showed the three papers have similar composition and chemical properties and the difference was not significant.
