160 samples of SASIMI were collected for study of bacterial contamination during July 1984 to. June 1985. The results were as follows: total plate counts: 5.0×10^4~2.5×10^8/g, positive to staphylococcus: 39 cases (24.4%), positive to E. coli: 21 cases (13.1%), positive to coliform bacteria: 58 cases (36.3%), salmonella and vibrio parahaemolyticus were not detected.
