The purpose of this study was to investigate the thermal conductivity of apparent soil on the source head plot, transport plot and cumulate plot of the disaster areas caused by earthquake and typhoon in Shitou. Soil multi-thermal properties meter was employed as a major instrument in the study. Soil thermal conductivities were 1.19 Jm^(-1)℃^(-1)S^(-1), 1.00 Jm^(-1)℃^(-1)S^(-1) and 0.31 Jm^(-1)℃^(-1)S^(-1) with respect to the source head, transport and cumulate plots. The moisture content, density and thermal conductivity of soil samples from above plots were also examined in laboratory. There was shown significant correlation (R=0.83~0.95) between soil thermal conductivity and soil moisture content.
