溪頭地區鳳凰山之大樹及珍貴樹木調查
The Investigation of Giant and Valuable Trees in Fong-Huang Mountain of Xitou Area

A broadleaf forest about 620 ha is located at Fong-Huang Mountain of Xitou Area with trees from the families of Fagaceae and Lauraceae as the main dominant tree species. The forest structures are intact with diverse tree composition. An investigation was conducted between March and December of 2015. A total of 73 giant trees with DBH ＞ 70 cm were recorded including Castanopsis cuspidata var. carlesii, Lithocarpus amygdalifolius, Cyclobalanopsis longinux and Schima superba. Some of recorded trees with height greater than 20 m.
