From January 2015 to June 2016, a monitoring of pest on herb plant, Melissa officinalis L., was conducted at the campus of Fu- Jen Catholic University, New Taipei City. Twenty-one species have been recorded, whereby the lepidopteran pest has the highest abundance among the 13 species including mite, whitefly and scale insect that constitutes the majority of pest on lemon balm. The mite species, Tetranychus ludeni, could reach 100% infection rate for the plant but could also be reduced by its natural enemy, a rove beetle species close to Holobus flavicornis. Among the lepidopteran pests, parasite wasps play a major role in reduction of the number of pest. The difference in species composition of pest on lemon balm between northern (Fu Jen Catholic University) and southern (Fongshan and neighboring townships) Taiwan was significant. The number of species in northern Taiwan was higher than the south probably due to the field conditions.
