柳杉人工林附生巢狀蕨類之空間分布

The Distribution of Epiphytic and Nested Ferns in a Cryptomeria japonica Plantation Forest

摘要


冠層附生植物對於森林生態系多樣性、水分及養分循環有著重要的作用,但相關研究對於附生大型巢狀蕨類在臺灣人工林中的分布及功能作用卻是著墨有限。本研究於溪頭的柳杉人工林中共設置6個10×10 m^2之樣區,針對當中的巢狀蕨類進行樣本採集、分佈位置及性狀量測,並加以分析與探討。結果顯示:溪頭柳杉林內2種巢狀蕨類植物主要分布於10-20 m間的冠層區域,並以植株寬度100 cm以下之個體最多(164株),臺灣山蘇花之大型個體主要集中在10-20 m的冠層區域,而崖薑蕨的大型個體則主要分布於樹高10 m以下之樹幹處,且崖薑蕨之植株大小與分布高度有輕微的負相關性存在。蕨類植株大小與附著枝幹徑級大小有顯著的正相關性,其餘的著生因子與蕨類植株大小則較無顯著之相關性存在。

Epiphytes are important for forest biodiversity, water cycle and nutrient accumulation. However, the distribution and function of nested ferns were seldom studied. In order to clarify the distribution pattern of nested ferns in Xitou, we set up a total of six 10 × 10 m^2 plots to collect all nested ferns within the plots with measurements of their morphology and adherent position. Results showed that two nested ferns (Asplenium nidus and Aglaomorpha coronans) adhered mostly in a 10-20 m height canopy, and most individuals (i.e., a total of 164 individuals) had a plant width less than 100 cm. The larger individuals of Asplenium nidus were dominant in the canopy height between 10-20 m, while Aglaomorpha cornans were dominant in the tree height below 10 m. The results showed that the individual size was slightly and negatively correlated with distribution height, and significantly and positively correlated with adherent branch (or trunk) diameter. However, no other significant correlations were found among other factors.
