摘要

台稉2號為本場嘉義分場新育成之稉稻新品種，原品系名稱台南育205號，為本場針對豐產、良質、抗多種病蟲害之育種目標而育成。本品種係民國70年第2期作先以豐產、強稈、適應性廣之台農67號與抗病蟲害強、米質優良之嘉農育252號雜交，民國71年第1期作復以其第1代為母本，與米質優良、抗稻熱病及抗倒伏性強之台南9號為父本雜交，民國73年第1期作選出。經各級產量比較試驗、全省區域試驗、耐肥性測驗及各項農藝特性、病蟲害檢定、米質分析及食味檢定等結果，顯示本品種為一豐產且穩定性頗佳之品種，對多種病蟲害具抵抗性、米質優良、食味佳，植株雖較高，但稈強不易倒伏、肥效性佳、脫粒性亦適中，生育日數較台農67號晚1～2天。另本品種之再生能力強，適宜作為再生稻之栽培。民國78年6月經農林廳召集之作物新品種登記命名審查小組審查通過，准予登記命名繁殖推廣，為適合本省雙期作田栽培之優良稉稻新品種。

Chiayi Branch Station of the Tainan' District Agricultural Improvement Station released a new japonica rice variety ”Taikeng 2” in June, 1989. This variety was originated from the cross between Tainung 67 and Chianung Yu 252 in 1981. The F2 progeny was further crossed with Tainan 9 in 1982. The line with the breeding name of ”Tainan Yu 205” was selected in 1984 from the pedigrees of the second cross for further experiment. The preliminary, advanced and the regional yield trials, as well as other screen testings were conducted between 1984 and 1989. After evaluation by the Committee of Registration for New Rice Varieties of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Forestry, ”Tainan Yu 205” was finally named as ”Taikeng 2” in June, 1989. This medium to late maturing variety is characterized with the merits of stable and high yielding, resistant to lodging, high response to N fertilizer, suitable shattering rate, high grain quality, good eating taste, moderately resistant to rice blast, rice strip virus and brown planthopper pests, and is suitable for ratoon culture.
