摘要

不結球白菜「臺南4號」，又名青油菜，係結合青江菜及油菜特性所育成一代雜交品種，臺南區農業改良場於2018年6月完成新品種命名及授權後推廣。新品種「臺南4號」經2年區域試作後證明具有耐熱暨葉色濃綠特性，單株重量不亞於對照品種。由於具有優異耐熱特性，該品種已以非專屬授權予2家種苗業者進行種子生產及推廣，並已開始供應農民栽培所需種子。新品種自命名及推廣後已獲許多有機蔬菜農場青睞及於夏季持續栽種，證實它不僅適合有機栽培，也具優異耐熱特性。現有技術：青江菜從播種到收穫至少需要40天，且夏季栽培常於採收後葉片易黃化。此外夏季常面臨暴雨等不穩定天候，若菜農可選用耐熱暨早熟品種，則有助於減少不良天候對該短期葉菜生產之衝擊。創新內容：新品種係由青江菜與油菜雜交育成，它結合青江菜的優良柔嫩口感及油菜快速生育與耐熱性，葉片略呈湯匙形、纖維細膩。對產業影響：耐熱不結球白菜「臺南4號」品種適合於夏季進行有機栽培，因此，對於夏季葉菜生產者而言，該品種具夏季高產特性已為優先選項。

Chinese cabbage (NanDARES No.4), released by Tainan District Agricultural Research and Extension Station in June, 2018, is a non-heading type of bok choy. It is a F1-hybrid variety from the cross breeding between bok choy and rape. In the variety trials, the result proved that the new variety 'NanDARES No.4' features heat tolerance with dark-green leaves, and its plant weight is not less than that of the comparison variety. With heat-tolerance characteristics, this variety has been authorized to two companies for seed propagation and for farmers in commercial production. Due to its favorable traits, it has been continuously grown in many organic vegetable farms, particularly in the warm season. What is already known on this subject? Bok choy takes at least 40 days from seeding to harvest and the leaves usually turn yellow in summer. The weather is unstable and stormy in summer in Taiwan. If vegetable farmers can use the heat tolerant and early-maturing new variety, they can reduce harm to crops by the bad weather. What are the new findings? This variety was developed from the cross breeding between bok choy and rape. It combines the good taste and texture of bok choy with fast-growing and heat-tolerant characteristics of rape. What is the expected impact on this field? The new non-heading Chinese cabbage variety 'NanDARES No.4', being tolerant to high temperature, is suitable for organic production in summer. Therefore, growers have another choice of high yield leafy vegetable in summer.
