Geometrid Moths and Their Host Plants in Fenghuang Nature Education Area, the Experimental Forest, NTU

摘要

蛾類是森林中重要的植食動物，因此增加蛾類相關知識可以增加對於森林生態系的了解，本研究於臺大實驗林鳳凰自然教育園區進行約一年(2006年3月至2007年1月)尺蛾的種類、發生時間及尺蛾幼蟲的食草調查，結果共記錄尺蛾78種，包括枝尺蛾亞科(Ennominae)45種、青尺蛾亞科(Geometrinae)19種、姬尺蛾亞科(Sterrhinae)7種、波尺蛾亞科(Larentiinae)6種、星尺蛾亞科(Oenochrominae)1種;在調查期間以2006年4月間出現的尺蛾種類最多(23種)，冬季一至三月間最少;園區中最常見的尺蛾為缺口姬尺蛾(Gnamptoloma aventiaria)、相橘尺蛾(Hyposidratalaca)及尖角線尺蛾(Timandraconvectaria)。根據丈獻記載及觀察飼養結果， 本研究中整理出其中29種尺蛾幼蟲的食草，其中1 2 種尺蛾以樟科植物為食，丈中還詳細描述人工飼養之黃褐尖尾小尺蛾(Zanclopera calidata)、白寬尾尺蛾(Ourapteryx clara)、臺灣垂耳尺蛾(Pachyodestaiwana )、明線垂耳尺蛾(Pachyodes iterans)、大黑斑褐姬尺蛾(Organopoda carnearia)、雙目白姬尺蛾(Problepsis albidior)、緣白星波尺蛾(Collix stellata)等之幼蟲形態及食草。

This study investigated the occurrence and host plants of geometrid moths from April of 2006 to January of 2007 in Fenghuang Nature Education Area of the Experimental Forest, National Taiwan University. We recorded and identified 78 geometrid species , including 45 species from Subfamily Ennominae, 19 from Geometrin ae, 7 from Sterrhinae, 6 from Larentiinae, and 1 from Oenochrominae. The number of geometrid species peaked in April of 2006 (23), and was lowest from January to March. The most common species are Gnamptoloma aventiaria, Hyposidra talaca, and Timandra convectaria . Based on the records of previous studies, the field observation s and the results of indoor larva rearing, this study came up with a list of host plants of 29 geometrid species. Among them, 12 species feed on the foliage of Family Lauraceae. This report also describes the detailed morphology of larvae and host plants of seven geometrid species, i.e. Zanclopera calidata, Ouraptelyx clara, Pachyodes taiwana, Pachyodes iterans, Organopoda carnearia, Problepsis albidior, and Collix stellata.
