裱褙用紙之研製及性質分析

Preparation and Characterization of Mounting Papers

摘要


臺灣裱褙紙張概分棉紙及宣紙二大類。棉紙係以構樹皮 (Broussonetiapapyrifera) 纖維為主要原料製成,其撕裂強度、耐摺強度及破裂強度高,剛度高,透氣度亦高,但質地較粗糙,平滑度低且吸水度較差。宣紙係以雁皮 (Wikstroemia sikokiana) 或青檀 (Pteroceltis tatrinowii) 樹皮為主要原料並加入竹漿及稻草漿抄成,其紙張撕裂強度、耐摺強度及破裂強度較低,剛度低、柔軟,但平滑度高且吸水性佳。本實驗選定雁皮纖維及鳳梨 (Ananas comosus) 纖維作為自製裝裱紙張的材料,希望可以抄出兼具宣紙細緻吸水及棉紙堅韌強度的紙張。經由各種煮漿性質、漂白條件、抄製紙張各種性質測試結果及裝裱完成後作品的各項性質評估,鳳梨纖維所用蒸煮及漂白藥品最少,紙張白度佳,纖維破壞少,紙力高。經加速老化後,鳳梨纖維紙張耐摺強度高,紙張可以維持較高白度。鳳梨纖維所製紙張裱成之作品柔軟、光滑,利於作品保存,但吸水性較差,影響用糊濃度。只要改善鳳梨纖維吸水性,將會是另外一種優良的裝裱用紙原料。

In Taiwan, mounting papers can be grouped as mien paper and shuan paper. Mien papers are high in folding endurance, tear and burst strengths, stiff and air permeable, but with coarser texture and lower water absorbency. The papers using gampi (Wikstroemia sikokiana) bast or pteroceltis (Pteroceltis tatarinowii) bast as main constituent are referred to as shuan papers. They have lower tear, folding, burst, poorer stiffness, and higher smoothness and water absorbency. Through fiber morphological observations, pineapple (Ananas comosus) and gampi fibers were found to be similar to a typical shuan paper fiber. Two kinds of fibers were selected to make handmade papers for mounting purposes. The formed sheets were tested for water absorbency and after accelerated aging tests using dry heat and light irradiation, the sheets were tested for brightness and folding endurance changes. Pineapple fiber required the least amounts of cooking and bleaching chemicals and produced sheets with good brightness, minimal fiber damages and high strengths. After accelerated aging, the pineapple sheets retained higher folding endurance and maintained higher brightness. Sheets made of pineapple fiber are smooth and glossy which was conducive to the preservation of the artwork on them. Sheets made of pineapple fiber had poor water absorbency, which affected the paste concentration used in mounting. Based on digestion performance, bleaching conditions, and various properties of the resulting sheets, pineapple fiber is with the exception of poorer water absorbency. Upon improving its water absorbency property, it will definitely be a superior mounting paper raw material.
