Museum exhibitions conform to social trends, leading to timely curation of themed special exhibitions to promote understanding of and thinking on topics in the public domain, further triggering multi-faceted discussions and interactive exchanges among relevant groups. This is important for embracing publicness. Regulation of relationships is a major part of the curation process. Curators develop exhibition story axes based on the regulation and organization of relationships, such as of self and objects/ exhibited items, people and groups, and self and inner self, achieving exhibition content of diverse aspects. With public spaces of museums as their main platform, they accommodate and coordinate professional targets related to the items and theme. Through exhibitions, they conduct exchanges and dialogues and respond to the idea of museums as public spaces. In this article, "The Story of Taiwan's Nephrite" exhibition, held at the National Museum of Natural Science in 2021, is used as an example to deconstruct how curators, during the process of curation, from the network of regulated relationships among academic institutions, industry workshops, local museums, collectors, and artists choose relevant items for exhibition, communicate and carry out discussions before and during the exhibition period, and extend exchanges by complementing the exhibition-associated educational activities of the museum. Further, curators promote interactive connections with audiences and use feedback from audiences for follow-up actions. In this way, the process of curation, often hidden in museums, is revealed. Moreover, how to embrace publicness trends and move toward new exhibition curation actions and practices is addressed.
