老薑培土器之研製與改良
Manufacture and Improvement of Cultivator for Ginger

To solve the problem of labor shortage and reduce the hardness of working for ginger farmers, Taoyuan DAIS has been starting to investigate the traditional ginger cultivator methods since 1996. In March 1997, a prototype ginger cultivatior has been developed by using 13 horsepower diesel engine as power source. In June 1998, the ginger cultivator was improved to be able to operate on ditch of ginger farm by using 6 horsepower diesel engine. Field trail showed that ginger cultivator could work very well, and the vibrating board of the cultivator could lift up the field soil from the ditch and press them on the ridge of the field. The working efficiency of the cultivator was about 10 times faster than that of manual operation.
