摘要

水稻品種「桃園一號」原品系代號為台粳育19212號，係1990年第一期作農業試驗所嘉義分所以台粳一號與台粳育4156號之雜交後代與台粳育3578號進行雜交選拔，其選拔之後代交由桃園區農業改良場於1993年第一期作由觀察試驗材料選出，再進行各級產量比較試驗、全省區域試驗及各項特性檢定，2001年第一期作提出命名登記為「桃園一號」。「桃園一號」特性為早熟、抗稻熱病、產量高、外觀及食用品質優良，區域試驗結果第一期作平均產量5,796 kg/ha，第二期作平均產量4,661 kg/ha，其穩定性與生產潛力均優於對照品種台粳一號，適合全省各地區之單期作及雙期作稻田栽培。

The rice variety ”Taoyuan 1”, coded as Taikeng Yu 19212 derived from pedigree selection by using the crossing of Taikeng 1/ Taikeng Yu 4156 as female parent crossed with Taikeng Yu 3578 as male parent. This cross was made by Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute-Chiayi Branch Station in the first crop of 1990. Taikeng Yu 19212 was selected from the observation yield trial in the first crop of 1992. After a series trials of preliminary, advanced, regional and commercial production made by Taoyuan District Agricultural Improvement Station, Taikeng yu 19212 was registered as ”Taoyuan 1” and released in 2001. ”Taoyuan 1” possesses characters of early maturity, resistance to blast disease, high yield potential and good appearance with high eating quality. The average grain yield from the regional yield trials was 5,796 kg/ha in the first crop and 4,661 kg/ha in the second crop. The regional yield trials also showed that the stability and yield potential of ”Taoyuan 1” were better than the variety Taikeng 1. The palatability of cooked rice of the new variety ”Taoyuan 1” was similar to Taikeng 9, and recommended for growing both in the first and second crop as high-quality rice variety.
