摘要

本研究旨在育成適合北部地區氣候條件、株型直立、果實碩大、鮮紅亮麗、硬實、糖度佳及產量高之早生品種。草苺新品種‘桃園4號’（品系代號TYS0304），商品名「紅冠」，係由硬實品系‘TYS80-25’與‘桃園3號’之雜交後裔所選出，具植株生育旺盛、早生、株型直立、果實硬度中等、大果數多及產量高等優良性狀，適合作為觀光草苺園栽培品種。經單株選拔、品系觀察、品系比較試驗及各項特性檢定，均表現優異。新品種已取得我國之植物品種權，品種權利期間自2012年7月23日至2032年7月22日止。

This study was conducted to develop a new cultivar of strawberry with improved adaptation the climate, upright growing habit, large berries, bright red color, firmness and high sugar content of fruit and high yield as well as early maturity in Taiwan. 'Taoyuan No.4' tested as TYS0304, is a progeny resulting from a cross between TYS80-25 and 'Taoyuan No.3'. Taoyuan No.4 is an early maturing variety with high vigorous in growth, upright and tall plant height, medium firmness, improved number of large berries and high yield. It is recommended for the cultivation of self-picking strawberry field. During plant selection, lines observation and lines comparison test, Taoyuan No.4 showed superior performance. The plant breeder right for the new cultivar 'Taoyuan No.4' was approved and effective from July 23, 2012 to July 23, 2032.
