本研究是以深度訪談法及內容分析法,探討母親在孩子罹患白血病後,所感受到的壓力源及其應變策略,並用 one-way ANOVA 及 t-test 尋找影響反應的可能因素。從11位母親的1213個行為單元分析,發現母親最感威脅的問題依序為醫療過程,患童食慾及經濟。所做的應變策略,以改變照顧方式最多,其次是請求協助及尋求資料。在情感反應中,常呈現不安、害怕及悲傷,且會用迴避來減輕負擔。母親教育程度及患童住院次數,可影響母親壓力源的感受。患童住院次數、食慾改變嘔吐,可影響母親的情感反應。其他如母親的工作性質、宗教信仰或親人死亡經驗,以及患童的發病年齡、教育程度、兄弟姊妹人數或發病期限等因素,對母親的反應並無顯著的影響。
The purpose of this study was to recognize the perceived stressors and coping strategies of mothers with school-aged children suffering from leukemia. Data for this descriptive study was collected by indepth interview and content analysis. From eleven interviewing records of mothers, 1213 behavior units were obtained, including 388 units of stressors and 825 units of coping strategies. In the perceived stressors, the most threatening problems were the process of medical treatment, the childs' loss of appetite, and the economic problems. The coping strategies most frequently identified were changes in rearing method, asking for help, and the seeking of relative information. The mother's affective reactions included anxiety, fear, and sadness. Sometimes, avoidance was used to reduce stress. The mother's perceived stressors were influenced by the education level of the mother and the numbers of hospitalization involved. The affective reactions of numbers of hospitalization, the appetite of the sick child, and the occurrance of vomiting in the child.
