Education of Some Health Care Related Schools in the Republic of China

There are now eight medical colleges in the Taiwan area including three public and four private colleges and one National Defense Medical Center for the military. These colleges include the National Taiwan University College of Medicine (NTUCM), National Yang-Ming Medical College (NYMC), National Chengkung University Medical College (NCUMC), Kaohsiung Medical College (KMC), China Medical College (CMC), Taipei Medical College (TMC), Chungshan Medical and Dental College (CMDC) and the National Defense Medical Center (NDMC). With the exception of NCUMC which offers only a five-year program for post-baccalaureate study, the other seven colleges have schools of medicine (a 7-year program), dentistry, nursing and medical technology, Programs in pharmacy, public health, rehabilitation medicine and nutrition, however are not all offered at each medical college. This paper briefly introduces the current status of public health, rehabilitation medicine and nutrition schools.
