Design of a Simplified Detent Clutch Using Curve Arch Spring for Torque-Overload Protection

應用曲型拱彈簧結構設計簡易掣子式扭矩過載保護裝置

摘要


本文旨在於應用曲型拱的結構,設計簡易徑向掣子式的離合器,只要兩個元件一為曲型拱齒輪(arch gear),它的功能如彈簧提供彈力與肘部結構,另一為凸齒輪(bead gear)作為驅動齒輪,可以產生扭矩。當所傳遞之扭矩超出設計值時,它的凸出部旋轉滑過曲型拱齒輪的拱型肘部,則扭矩不再傳遞出來,具有過負載保護機件之功用。本構思經由分析與實驗證明確實可行,它不但能夠有效地減少徑向掣子式離合器的零件,也降低了組立時間,達到簡化與快速組立的結果。文內之設計例是採用工程塑膠POM以射出成型加工來大量生產,可以降低成本,提昇競爭力。

This study presents a simplified detent clutch that consists of only two components; say arch gear and bead gear. The friction and restoring forces provided by an arch spring will give a constraint to the driving bead gear. Thus the torque can be transmitted from the bead gear to the arch gear. When the transmitted torque exceeds the design limit, the bead gear would separate with the arch gear. Thus, the present clutch will act as an overload protection mechanism. The idea has been demonstrated through both analytical and experimental approaches. The proposed design significantly reduces the components of clutch. Consequently, the assembly of the clutch becomes simple and fast. Further, the bead gear and the arch gear presented in this study can be fabricated by means of injection-molding process. Thus the cost of the clutch can be significantly reduced.
