急診護理人員對企圖自殺病人的態度

摘要

本研究是在探討急診護理人員對企圖自殺病人的態度及其相關因素，以立意取樣方式，選取南部三所醫學中心與五所區域醫院之急診室女性臨床護理人員198名爲研究對象，以自填式問卷做調查，共獲得有效問卷194份。研究結果發現：急診護理人員對企圖自殺病人的態度依同意程度（1-4分）來看，平均得分爲2.4分，其中同意程度得分2分及2分以下之偏負向態度人次百分比最高三項分別爲「重覆自殺個案應自費就醫以避免浪費社會醫療資源」(79.9%)、「自殺是自和行爲」(78.4%)、以及「自殺並非不得已，是不值得同情」(75.3%)；研究對象的急診護理年資越久其對企圖自殺病人的態度顯著越正向，定期參加宗教活動的急診護理人員對企圖自殺病人的態度顯著較沒有參加宗教活動者正向。此研究結果可供急診護理人員省思其對企圖自殺病人的態度及安排自殺病人護理相關在職教育課程之參考，以提升企圖自殺病人在急診室的照護品質。

The goal of this study was to explore the attitudes toward patients with suicide attempts among nurses who worked in the emergency department. A total of 198 participants were recruited for this study by purposive sampling from eight general hospitals in southern Taiwan. Each participant was requested to answer a structure questionnaire anonymously and a 98% response rate was achieved.
The results were as follows: (1) The mean score of emergency nurses' attitudes toward patient with suicide attempts on 4 points scale was 2.4; (2) The three most common negative comments reflecting attitudes were: ”Patients with a history of multiple attempts of suicide should pay the medical fee themselves, because they waste the social medical resources”, ”Suicide is a selfish behavior” and ”Suicide is afternoon-seeking behavior, not worthy sympathize with”; and (3) The emergency nurses who participated regularly in religious activities or had more emergency nursing experience were more 1ikely to have positive attitudes toward patients with suicidal attempts.
The results of this study could be used as a reference in a training program for emergency nurses to help improve positive attitudes, thereby raising the level of emergency nursing quality in the care of patients with suicidal attempts.
